Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Berry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Nissin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Berry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Nissin!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nissin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Berry is trying to maintain the position but Nissin is very close to passing his half guard.

Berry looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nissin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Berry has managed to free his arm - good work.
Berry trying to control but Nissin postures up.

Nissin is working for a submission of some sort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Berry is concentrating on defense, preventing Nissin from advancing position.
Nissin is trying to control. Berry wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Nissin wants to stand up but Berry has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Berry on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Berry is looking to control Nissin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Berry avoid being mounted?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Berry is pressing down on Nissin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Berry pulls Nissin in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nissin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Berry not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Nissin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Berry works his way to full guard. Good work.

Berry is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Berry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Berry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nissin throwing strikes but missing.

Nissin is looking to stand up but Berry won't let him.
Berry is pulling down on Nissin's head to control his posture.
Berry wants to stand up but Nissin is controlling him.
Nissin wants to control from the top but Berry keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Nissin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nissin showed some decent athleticism there.
Berry wants to get back to his feet.
Berry makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Berry.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Berry bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nissin's guard.

Nissin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Berry stays in close to Nissin's body and controls the position.
Berry postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nissin throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Nissin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Nissin dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Nissin wants to clinch up but Berry keeps it at a distance.
Berry takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Nissin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Berry to the mat! Berry manages to get full guard.
Berry is trying to control the position but Nissin postures up.

Berry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nissin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nissin prevents Berry from getting back to his feet.
Nissin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Nissin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Berry working for a triangle but Nissin defends it easily.

Berry uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Nissin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Berry avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nissin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Nissin closes the distance and clinches.
Berry throws an elbow but it misses.
Berry jumps guard but Nissin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Berry tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nissin smiles and moves away.

Berry keeping moving, preventing Nissin from controlling successfully.
Nissin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nissin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Nissin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Berry's guard.
Berry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nissin is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Berry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Berry throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Nissin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Berry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nissin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nissin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nissin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Nissin wants to control the position but Berry says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Berry slips a nice elbow through Nissin's hands, connecting with Nissin's forehead.
Nissin is looking to escape.
Nissin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Berry is working away from the top position though.

Berry looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nissin is looking for a sweep. Berry is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Nissin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Berry gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Berry trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Nissin postures up in Berry's guard and throws a big left but Berry blocks it.
Berry is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Berry looks like he's trying to stand up.

Berry manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Nissin darts in and clinches Berry up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Berry prevents Nissin from breaking the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Nissin as Berry tries to tie him up.
Berry tries to pull guard but Nissin holds him up against the cage and eventually Berry drops back down to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Berry blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Nissin throws a knee to the head but misses.
Nissin letting Berry take a breather here.
Berry is trying to stall.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Nissin.
Nissin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Berry has him pressed against the cage.
Berry tries to pull guard but Nissin won't allow it.

Nissin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Berry swats away the attempt to clinch by Nissin.
Nissin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Berrys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Nissin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Berry!

Berry is trying to get back to half guard.
Nissin misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Berry is trying to improve his position.
Berry pushes Nissin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nissin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Nissin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Berry is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Nissin is controlling him well.

Nissin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nissin throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Nissin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nissin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Berry is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Berry keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Berry lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Nissin is striking but Berry is not phased and passes to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Don Nissin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nissin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
