Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Wooten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karlos Kondiitti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wooten's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Battle Cry- Judas Priest. Kondiitti is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kuningas Pähkinä & Setä Tamu - Hei Scully. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Wooten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karlos Kondiitti!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kondiitti tries for a takedown but Wooten circles away easily
and Wooten counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kondiitti slips under a jab from Wooten.
Kondiitti wants to counter with a clinch but Wooten pushes him away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Wooten is looking to score with low kicks.
Kondiitti ducks right into an uppercut from Wooten.
Wooten misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kondiitti shoots in and drives through. Wooten sprawls well.
Kondiitti fails with the takedown
and Wooten counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kevin Wooten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlos Kondiitti.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Wooten, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A leg kick checked by Kondiitti.
Kondiitti feints the counter takedown.
Kondiitti checks the leg kick nicely there.
Kondiitti shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wooten as he jumps to the side.
Wooten swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

A jab-cross combination lands for Wooten and sends Kondiitti crashing to the mat! Wooten follows him down to the mat - Kondiitti regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Kondiitti is rocked!
Kondiitti keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Kondiitti moves into full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Wooten wants to stand but Kondiitti is controlling his posture from full guard.
Wooten wants to control from the top but Kondiitti keeps moving.

Kondiitti looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wooten has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kondiitti is proving hard to escape from.
Kondiitti will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Wooten being controlled here momentarily.
Wooten is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kondiitti has his foot on Wooten's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wooten works his way back into a safe position though.

Wooten postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Wooten trying to control but Kondiitti is working from the bottom.
Kondiitti told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooten is really struggling to control Kondiitti but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Kondiitti lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kondiitti sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wooten's guard.

Kondiitti is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kondiitti is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kondiitti throwing shots but Wooten is blocking nicely.

Kondiitti is working for a submission of some sort.
Kondiitti tries to pass to full mount but Wooten defends it.

Kondiitti in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Wooten tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kondiitti!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Karlos Kondiitti!
Karlos Kondiitti seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Kevin Wooten spoke after the fight, saying 'I'll be back stronger. I didn't really have a good camp, I'll be back, I promise.'.
