Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cro Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lao Tse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cro Cop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lao Tse!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tse misses with a body kick.
Cop lands a head kick!


It looks like Lao Tse has been cut.

Cop darts in and clinches Tse up against the cage.
Tse wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cop has him pressed against the cage.
Cop is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tse is defending well for now.
Cop keeps control of Tse as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Cop manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Cop uses the cage to get back to his feet.
A head kick misses from Tse.
Tse throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cop counters by clinching up.

Cop decides to pull guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cop pulls Tse in close to prevent any damage.

Cop is looking for a triangle but Tse pushes his legs off easily.

Cop bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tse's guard.


Cop stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Cop doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Tse misses with a series of wild punches.

Cop scores with a takedown into Tse's guard.
Cop showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Cop is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Tse wants to get back to his feet but Cop passes into half guard.
Cop content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Cop decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Cop looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tse is working an open guard so Cop takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Tse. Cop shrugs it off though.
Tse fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cop manages to avoid it.
Tse throws a sloppy head kick and Cop moves out of range easily.
Tse misses with an uppercut

and Cop counters by clinching up.

Cop has clasped his hands together around Tse's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Tse is trying to buck Cop off.
Tse really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cop working the ground and pound but Tse is defending the strikes.

Cop decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tse to his feet.
Tse throws a right hand that Cop ducks under and follows up with a left that Cop also avoids with ease.

Cop shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cop stands up from half guard.
Tse throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cop counters by moving into the clinch.

Cop manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cop is on top in guard.


Cop thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Cop won't allow Tse to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Tse pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Cop drives through and clinches with Tse against the cage.
Tse tries to break free but Cop pushes him back against the cage.

Cop is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tse can't fight it off and eventually Cop manages to take the fight to the floor. Tse looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cop seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tse for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cop works his foot free and advances to mount.

Cop looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Cop tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cop throwing strikes here but Tse is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Tse is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Cop sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Tse really wants to buck Cop off and get back to his feet.

Cop slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Lao Tse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cop avoids the head kick by Tse.
Tse throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Tse gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cop to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cop controls from within his opponent's guard.
Cop advances to half guard.
Cop content to control rather than advance.

Cop is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cop looking to ground and pound but Tse is blocking nicely.
Tse is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Cop controlling from the full mount.
Cop unloads with some shots from mount but Tse bucks and avoids them well.

Cop won't let Tse get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Tse holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Cop tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Cop takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lao Tse has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cro Cop is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cro Cop showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cop, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
