Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rusty Nales! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shark Attack! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nales clinches up against the ropes. Attack goes for a takedown attempt but Nales pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nales scores with a sloppy right hand. Attack should have avoided that one.
It looks like Shark Attack has been cut. Nales is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Attack gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Attack preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nales got a little sloppy there for a moment and Attack has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nales has managed to get both his arms back between Attack's legs - danger averted. Nales with a flurry of punches that miss. Nales missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nales with a nice head shot there. Nales connects with a couple of short punches. Nales has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nales keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Attack's head. Nales scoring with punches to the head and body. Nales with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Attack being controlled here, momentarily. Nales makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Attack keeping moving, preventing Nales from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nales is really struggling to control Attack but he's trying to hold on to the position. Nales missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Attack is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nales lands a left and a right that send Attack crashing to the mat, dazed. Nales thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Attack is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nales closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Attack is still on wobbly legs! Can Nales finish him? Attack is trapped in a tight thai clinch here. Nales pulls him left and then right before unleashing a vicious knee to the head. Oh damn - Attack is out cold! That's some serious business! What a knockout!
