Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jason Caine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Moraes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricardo Moraes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Caine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricardo Moraes!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caine tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Moraes swivels and escapes.

Caine definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nice takedown defense from Moraes. No joy for Caine on that attempt.
Moraes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Caine sees it coming and avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caine shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moraes as he avoids it easily.
Despite the aggression on Moraes's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Caine is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Moraes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Caine shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Moraes pinned against the cage. Moraes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Caine jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Moraes walks away with a smile on his face. Caine gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Caine closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Moraes quickly recovers to half guard.

Moraes tries to kick Caine off in order to stand up. Caine Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Caine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moraes keeps working.

Jason Caine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Caine looks up at the clock and then as Moraes takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Caine smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Moraes wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Caine is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Caine closes the distance and clinches up with Moraes, looking for a takedown. Caine pushes Moraes against the cage but Moraes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Caine shoots in for a double leg but Moraes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Caine goes for a double leg but Moraes avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Moraes continues to drive forward.
Moraes pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Caine back to the cage. Moraes follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Moraes lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Caine backs up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
