PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Dice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Out Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Dice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Out Shadow!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadow shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dice pinned against the ropes. Dice gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
An inside leg kick lands from Dice.
No luck for Shadow with that takedown attempt.
Shadow uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dice.
Shadow tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dice defends well and Shadow ends up having to push Dice into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Johnny Dice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Out Shadow.

Dice rushes Shadow and presses him up against the ropes.
Dice misses with a short punch on the inside.
Dice tries to land a knee to the head but Shadow blocks with his arms.
Dice lands with a short punch from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dice with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Shadow works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Shadow looks winded!

Shadow avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shadow throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Shadow must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Shadow is looking to work some ground and pound but Dice has wrist control.
Shadow trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Dice working for a triangle but Shadow defends it easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dice working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shadow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shadow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dice looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Shadow stands up over Dice, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Dice working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shadow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shadow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Shadow postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dice not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Shadow is looking to pass into half guard but Dice pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Dice is in guard.

Shadow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dice's guard.


Dice is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Shadow throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dice works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dice has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shadow can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dice looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Dice will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dice looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Shadow is defending well. Dice quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Shadow has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Dice celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
