Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Henderson Cormier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Buster Blighton!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormier avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Blighton misses with a combination

so Cormier counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cormier sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Blighton's guard.
Blighton is looking for a sweep. Cormier is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Blighton wants to get back to his feet.

Cormier is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cormier stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

As Blighton looks to move away, Cormier throws a big counter combo bu Blighton just gets out of the way.
Cormier shoots for a double leg takedown but Blighton sprawls well. He's pushed Cormier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cormier keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Blighton's head.

Blighton is working an open guard so Cormier takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Blighton throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blighton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Blighton is looking to clinch.
No joy there for Cormier, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And Blighton responds with a good body kick, but Cormier manages to step out the way in time.
The fight stays on the outside here - Blighton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Blighton gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Blighton is looking to clinch but Cormier is avoiding it.
Blighton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cormier manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Blighton wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Cormier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blighton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cormier tries to bum rush Blighton with a series of wild strikes but Blighton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Blighton has gone for a leg lock! Cormier slips out almost immediately though and dives into Blighton's guard.
