Sobolev comes to the cage accompanied by Ya kuplu tebe dom. Bomb has chosen Casino Royale Soundtrack - You Know My Name as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 39 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vasiliy Sobolev!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 75 - 30 - 7, fighting out of Helsinki, James Bomb!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomb connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Bomb digs a good body shot into Sobolev's ribs.
Bomb moves in looking to clinch but Sobolev pushes him off.
James Bomb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sobolev throws a body shot but no joy.
We've been hearing reports that Sobolev has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Bomb has managed to clinch.
Sobolev tries for a takedown but Bomb manages to get underhooks.
Sobolev can't get the takedown.
Bomb gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sobolev.

Bomb is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

A right handed body shot lands from Bomb.
Sobolev is breathing heavily.
Sobolev takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Vasiliy Sobolev has been cut.
Bomb can't find room to land a body shot as Sobolev controls the action.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bomb takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Bomb throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sobolev takes a knee to the side of the body.
A body shot lands from Bomb.
Bomb crunches a lovely knee into Sobolev's ribcage.
Bomb throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sobolevs head.
Bomb lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Bomb lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bomb misses with a punch to the body.
Bomb lands a nice knee to the body.
Bomb tries to land a knee to the head but Sobolev blocks with his arms.

Bomb struggles to land a body shot inside as Sobolev controls his hands.
Bomb is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Sobolev drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bomb lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Bomb has Sobolev pressed against the cage.
Sobolev tries for a takedown. No joy.
Sobolev changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bomb fights it off and pushes away nicely.
James Bomb is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bomb fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bomb keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bomb tries to clinch but Sobolev moves out of range.

Sobolev gets a takedown into half guard.
Bomb is looking to improve his position.

Bomb is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sobolev's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sobolev's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sobolev looking very determined here, making life difficult for Bomb.
Sobolev rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Bomb takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sobolev trying to hold on to Bomb's head to control him but Bomb postures up.
Bomb looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sobolev is controlling Bomb's trapped leg to prevent Bomb from advancing to side control.
Bomb wants to take a breather but Sobolev is having none of it.
Sobolev has a hand on Bomb's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Bomb takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Bomb controlling his opponent.
Let's hope that Bomb has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Bomb dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Vasiliy Sobolev's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Bomb scores with a head kick.
The crowd cheers as Bomb lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sobolev doesn't seem phased though.
Bomb cracks the inside of Sobolev's front leg.
Sobolev shoots in but Bomb avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sobolev.
Bomb throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sobolev stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Sobolev shoots in looking for a takedown but Bomb manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sobolev's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vasiliy Sobolev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sobolev misses with a body shot.
Sobolev closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Sobolev drops his hands momentarily and Bomb takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Bomb has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sobolev walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bomb feints with a jab and clips Sobolev right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Sobolev is sent crashing into the canvas and Bomb leaps in for the kill! Sobolev tries to get to his feet but Bomb is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Sobolev is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Bomb!

During a confident post fight interview, James Bomb thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
