Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mubarak Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyron Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall has chosen If the looks could kill as his entrance music. Tyron Marshall will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mubarak Machida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 11 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyron Marshall! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall shoots in for a takedown but Machida shows good takedown defense. As Marshall backs away, Machida returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Marshall shoots in looking for a takedown but Machida manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marshall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Machida misses the shot to the body. Marshall tries to counter by closing the distance. Marshall avoids the body shot from Machida.

Machida throws a body punch but Marshall moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Machida misses with a body shot
and Marshall counters with a nice body kick.
Machida misses with a looping right. Marshall fails with the takedown. Mubarak Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyron Marshall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Machida lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marshall circles away quickly and effectively. Machida goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Tyron Marshall has been cut. Machida keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Machida swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Marshall looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Machida misses the body punch and Marshall counters with a three punch combo that has Machida backing up. Machida nods at Marshall to acknowledge the strikes. Machida doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Marshall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall shoots in but Machida avoids the takedown attempt easily. Marshall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Machida.
Marshall moves into range and clinches up with Machida. Marshall keeps control of Machida as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Marshall drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Machida gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Marshall scores a nice knee to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshall taking a breather. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Machida takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Marshall pulls guard successfully.
Machida controlling from the top position. Machida slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Marshall avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Machida.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machida throws an elbow but Marshall slips to the side and avoids it well. Machida thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Machida wants to control but Marshall is keeping him busy. Marshall is looking for a sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Machida in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Machida wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marshall keeps working. Machida in side control, just content to control the action for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marshall tries for a takedown but Machida sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Marshall takes the fight into the clinch. Marshall drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Machida gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Marshall regains guard.
Marshall wants to sweep here but Machida controlling him for the moment. Machida trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Machida loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Marshall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Machida stopping the sweep attempt from Marshall. Machida in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Machida drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Machida jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall trying to keep a closed guard but Machida is proving a slippery customer.
Machida throwing strikes but missing. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Machida stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marshall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marshall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Machida throws a body punch but Marshall moves out of range. Machida takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Marshall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Machida sprawls well. Machida wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marshall gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Machida.
Tyron Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marshall moves away from the strike by Machida. Machida lets loose with a powerful body kick. Marshall will feel that in the morning. Machida shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marshall manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Machida is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Machida working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machida is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Machida forces his way into half guard. Machida thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Machida thows a huge punch but Marshall dodges it nicely.

Machida missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Machida keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Machida looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Machida is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Marshall reverses the position - he's now on top in Machida's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marshall tries to clinch but Machida is having none of it. Marshall fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Machida changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marshall looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Mubarak Machida is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Tyron Marshall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Mubarak Machida showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Machida, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
