Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Shlemenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armstrong comes into the arena with 'Demolition Man' by Def Leppard blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Armstrong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Shlemenko! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shlemenko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Shlemenko gets caught flat footed, as Armstrong shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Shlemenko wants to stand and escape but Armstrong is having none of it. Armstrong wants to control from the top but Shlemenko keeps moving. Armstrong postures up and lands a big shot to Shlemenko's brow. Armstrong preventing the sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shlemenko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Armstrong controls the pace. Shlemenko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Armstrong is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shlemenko is pulling down on Armstrong's head to control his posture.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Armstrong fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shlemenko sprawls well initially but Armstrong persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Armstrong controlling the action here. Ground and pound from Armstrong. Armstrong thows a huge punch but Shlemenko dodges it nicely.
Armstrong wants to work for an arm triangle but Shlemenko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Armstrong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shlemenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shlemenko has his hands clasped together around Armstrong's back. He's all about the action. Shlemenko is staying active underneath Armstrong, who seems content to just control the action from this position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Shlemenko has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Armstrong is working away from the top position though.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Armstrong stuffs the takedown attempt from Shlemenko. Shlemenko gets slowly back to his feet. Armstrong throws a big counter combination but Shlemenko scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shlemenko tries to clinch up. Shlemenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Armstrong sprawls well. He's pushed Shlemenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Daniel Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Shlemenko. Shlemenko shoots in for a takedown but Armstrong shows good takedown defense. Shlemenko throws a right hand that Armstrong ducks under and follows up with a left that Armstrong also avoids with ease. Armstrong fails to land the takedown. Shlemenko dives in and grabs Armstrong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Armstrong pushes down on Shlemenko's head and hops out. Armstrong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Armstrong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shlemenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shlemenko keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Armstrong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Armstrong wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shlemenko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Armstrong's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Armstrong's back! Armstrong trying to control the hands but Shlemenko breaks the grip. Armstrong tries to roll but Shlemenko sticks to his back.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Armstrong trying to control the hands but Shlemenko won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shlemenko closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Armstrong's guard. Shlemenko controls from within his opponent's guard. Shlemenko stops Armstrong from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Armstrong keeping moving, preventing Shlemenko from controlling successfully. Shlemenko advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Shlemenko wants to control but Armstrong is keeping him busy. Armstrong is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Shlemenko trying to pass the guard but Armstrong defending well. Armstrong trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Shlemenko sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Armstrong dodges the punch combination from Shlemenko.
Armstrong fails with a takedown attempt. Shlemenko shoots in and drives through. Armstrong sprawls well. Armstrong appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Shlemenko tries a head kick but it misses.
Shlemenko slaps away a takedown attempt from Armstrong, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shlemenko clinches with his opponent.

Armstrong is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Armstrong throws a knee to the head but misses.
Armstrong is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shlemenko to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Armstrong. That's going to take a lot out of him. Armstrong tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shlemenko smiles and moves away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Armstrong displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shlemenko. Armstrong misses with a kick to the body.

Shlemenko gets slowly back to his feet. Shlemenko shoots in for a takedown but Armstrong shows good takedown defense. Shlemenko drives through with a takedown into Armstrong's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Armstrong looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shlemenko is one step ahead there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Armstrong wants to control the position but Shlemenko says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Shlemenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Armstrong avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shlemenko shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Armstrong looking for submissions off his back.

Shlemenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Armstrong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shlemenko throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Shlemenko is controlling the pace.
Armstrong wants to control but Shlemenko is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are battling for position here. Armstrong manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Shlemenko works a leg free and moves into half guard. Armstrong trying to control here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Shlemenko postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Armstrong to stand up. Sloppy strikes from Shlemenko. Those never looked like landing. It looked like Armstrong was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Shlemenko. Armstrong shrugs it off though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shlemenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Armstrong as he jumps to the side. No luck for Shlemenko with that takedown attempt. Armstrong tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Shlemenko manages to circle out of the way. Daniel Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Shlemenko. Armstrong tries to score with a low kick but Shlemenko moves his leg out of the way. Armstrong displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shlemenko. Shlemenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Armstrong is looking to land body kicks. Shlemenko tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Daniel Armstrong is winning the standup battle so far. Shlemenko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Armstrong avoids it really well and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Armstrong dives in and grabs Shlemenko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shlemenko pushes down on Armstrong's head and hops out. Shlemenko rushes Armstrong and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Armstrong is trying to maintain a safe position but Shlemenko gets an underhook and turns Armstrong into the cage. Armstrong wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Shlemenko changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Armstrong fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Shlemenko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Armstrong is fending him off so far but Shlemenko persists. Nope, Armstrong circles away and we're back to standing. Armstrong fails with a takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Armstrong shoots in and gets a takedown into Shlemenko's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Alexander Shlemenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Shlemenko has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
