Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Pichushkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Backlund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pichushkin comes to the cage accompanied by Sacred Reich - Rest in Peace. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alexander Pichushkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bob Backlund! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Backlund shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pichushkin napping and manages to drive through into side control! Backlund tries to move to mount but Pichushkin blocks the move with his legs. Pichushkin gets back to half guard. Backlund seems to be working for a kimura but Pichushkin defends the submission attempt. Backlund is thwarting Pichushkin's attempts to control the position. Pichushkin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pichushkin trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pichushkin wants to get back to full guard. Backlund winds up and cracks Pichushkin with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Pichushkin trying to control here.
Pichushkin is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Backlund is looking for a kimura but Pichushkin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Backlund to get the leverage. Backlund is working for a kimura but Pichushkin is defending it quite comfortably.
Backlund works his foot free and advances to mount. Pichushkin can't escape the position.
Backlund lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
It looks like Alexander Pichushkin has been cut. Pichushkin really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Backlund takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Backlund keeps control of the position as Pichushkin tries to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Backlund has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Backlund is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Pichushkin has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Backlund has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Pichushkin taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Backlund doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bob Backlund! A less than humble Bob Backlund misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
