Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toni Manel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manel has chosen A Portuguesa as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avery tries a low kick but Manel avoids it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Manel has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Avery wants to clinch.
Manel with the counter takedown but Avery avoids it easily.

Manel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Avery as he avoids it easily.
Avery fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

and Manel decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Avery's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Avery wants to sweep here but Manel controlling him for the moment.

Avery connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Manel momentarily.

Avery throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Avery fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Manel is out of range.

Manel drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Avery defends it well.
Avery misses with a head kick.

Avery dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Manel. That did some damage!
Donk. Avery catches Manel right on the button with a cross.
Avery lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Marcus Avery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Avery thows a leg kick but Manel checks it
and Manel counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Manel throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Manel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Avery!

Avery tries to lock up and control but Manel gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Manel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Manel breaks from Avery's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Manel drops a big elbow. That's hurt Avery! More shots from Manel and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

An out of breath Toni Manel thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Marcus Avery was interviewed post fight and said 'Oh man, thanks for the support, I am still young and will just keep getting better.'.
