Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodrick Riddle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David McIlwraith! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McIlwraith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. It looked like Riddle wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. McIlwraith shoots in for a takedown but Riddle shows good takedown defense. McIlwraith throws a head kick that misses. McIlwraith tries to clinch but Riddle is having none of it. McIlwraith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Riddle, pushing him back against the cage. McIlwraith tries to score a body lock takedown but Riddle shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Riddle pulls guard. Riddle trying to strike off his back.
Riddle is trying to control the position but McIlwraith postures up. McIlwraith gets to his feet. Riddle looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McIlwraith darts in and clinches Riddle up against the cage. Riddle fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Riddle fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrick Riddle. That's going to take a lot out of him. McIlwraith shoots in for a double leg but Riddle sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. McIlwraith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Riddle, pushing him back against the cage. Riddle trying to land knees to the body.
McIlwraith has had enough of the clinch but Riddle keeps him there for the moment. McIlwraith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Riddle avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. McIlwraith tries to break the clinch but Riddle is controlling the position. Riddle successfully pulls guard.
McIlwraith is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McIlwraith stands and steps away. Riddle gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riddle fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Riddle misses with a head kick.
McIlwraith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Riddle! Riddle tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Riddle is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McIlwraith throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Riddle tries to hold on but McIlwraith pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McIlwraith controlling from the full mount. Riddle is looking to improve his position but McIlwraith isn't that keen on the idea. Riddle is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Riddle is desperately trying to improve his position but McIlwraith has a good base and remains in mount. McIlwraith looking to control and managing it successfully. McIlwraith has control of Riddle's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Riddle regains control of the situation pretty easily.
McIlwraith throws a strike there. Riddle manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Riddle blocking the ground and pound attempt from McIlwraith. Riddle pushes McIlwraith off looking to stand but McIlwraith dives back in and keeps control.
McIlwraith is pressing down on Riddle's thigh, looking to free his foot. Riddle is holding on for now. McIlwraith is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Riddle! McIlwraith controlling from mount. McIlwraith avoids the attempt from Riddle to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McIlwraith jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Riddle manages to avoid the submission attempt. McIlwraith sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Riddle is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

McIlwraith rushes Riddle and presses him up against the cage. Riddle jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McIlwraith walks away with a smile on his face. Riddle gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Riddle shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McIlwraith defends it nicely. McIlwraith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Riddle as he avoids it easily. Riddle wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Rodrick Riddle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McIlwraith closes the distance and pushes Riddle back into the cage. McIlwraith lands a takedown into guard.
Riddle is striking off his back. McIlwraith thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riddle trying to control from the bottom.
Still in half guard, McIlwraith seems content to control. McIlwraith has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McIlwraith is trying to control the action in half guard but Riddle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. McIlwraith is thwarting Riddle's attempts to control the position. Riddle trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but McIlwraith manages to pass to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McIlwraith thowing shots but they're missing. McIlwraith looking to control but Riddle is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. McIlwraith controlling from the full mount. McIlwraith gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Riddle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McIlwraith. Riddle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrick Riddle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McIlwraith has managed to clinch.

McIlwraith is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Riddle is defending well. Riddle tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Riddle tries to score a body lock takedown but McIlwraith shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Riddle is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McIlwraith to keep the fight standing. McIlwraith drags the fight down to the ground.
McIlwraith has Riddle pulled in close to control his posture. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McIlwraith is on top in guard.

McIlwraith is looking for a kimura but Riddle is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McIlwraith to get the leverage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McIlwraith throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David McIlwraith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Nope, Riddle circles away and we're back to standing. David McIlwraith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Riddle misses with a takedown attempt and McIlwraith counters by moving into the clinch. McIlwraith breaks the clinch.

McIlwraith tries to free his leg and advance position but Riddle is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riddle trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Riddle wants to stand but McIlwraith is controlling the position. McIlwraith has gone for a leg lock! Riddle slips out almost immediately though and dives into McIlwraith's guard.

McIlwraith thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. McIlwraith looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Riddle passes into half guard.
McIlwraith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. McIlwraith controls Riddle momentarily but Riddle frees himself. Riddle throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McIlwraith works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Riddle is looking to stand up but McIlwraith won't let him. McIlwraith avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Riddle doesn't succeed with the takedown and Riddle takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McIlwraith closes the distance and pushes Riddle back into the cage. The referee calls for McIlwraith to work.
McIlwraith fails to pull guard.
Rodrick Riddle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David McIlwraith. McIlwraith has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Riddle is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Riddle misses with a short punch on the inside. McIlwraith is trying to break the clinch but Riddle is controlling him. Riddle is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McIlwraith is defending well for now. McIlwraith manages to break the clinch.
Riddle takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. McIlwraith scores with a three punch combo!
That's four minutes gone in the round. McIlwraith darts in and clinches Riddle up against the cage. McIlwraith lands a body shot in the clinch.
McIlwraith has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Riddle uses from the top position. McIlwraith has his feet on Riddle's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McIlwraith closes the distance and clinches. McIlwraith gets control of Riddle's arms and successfully pulls guard. McIlwraith will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Riddle trying to stand up but can't free himself from McIlwraith's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McIlwraith lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Rodrick Riddle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! David McIlwraith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. McIlwraith passes into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! David McIlwraith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McIlwraith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
