Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jutta Urpilainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Urpilainen comes to the cage accompanied by A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 3, fighting out of New York, Jutta Urpilainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Bob!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urpilainen moves in looking to clinch but Bob pushes him off.
Urpilainen tries to clinch up.
Urpilainen tries to close the distance and clinch but Bob swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Urpilainen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bob avoids it really well and circles away.
Bob connects with a body shot that sends Urpilainen's belly button to the back.
Urpilainen moves forwards but Bob connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Bob steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Urpilainen.
Urpilainen fails with the takedown
and Bob counters with a left to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Urpilainen looks for a takedown but Bob sprawls well.

Urpilainen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bob is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bob goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Urpilainen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bob's guard! Nice work there by Urpilainen!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Urpilainen throws a strike but Bob rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Urpilainen working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bob has passed into half guard!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bob is looking to take a break and control but Urpilainen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bob postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Urpilainen is trying to improve his position.

Bob wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Urpilainen, who protects the arm well.
Bob lands a nice forearm strike.

Bob thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Urpilainen is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Disciples Top Team , so we'll see if he gets out of it.
You can see the frustration on Urpilainen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bob shoots in and bounces Urpilainen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bob content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Bob is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bob sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Urpilainen's guard.
Bob wants to control but Urpilainen is keeping him busy.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bob accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Urpilainen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Urpilainen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bob as he jumps to the side.

Billy Bob showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Billy Bob comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bob has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
