And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Makatua!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A frustrated look appears on Makatua's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gibson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Makatua tries to circle away but Gibson has him pinned against the ropes.
Makatua blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Makatua looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Makatua looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Makatua misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gibson misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gibson lands an elbow inside that Makatua shrugs off.


It looks like Sam Makatua has been cut.
Gibson keeps control of Makatua as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Makatua misses with a hook from the clinch.
Gibson landing knees to the body.
Gibson lands a nice elbow.


That has opened up Sam Makatua's cut even more.

A frustrated look appears on Makatua's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gibson is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Gibson misses with an elbow strike.

Gibson has his opponent in a tight Thai clinch and unloads with a massive knee that drops Makatua to the canvas! Can Makatua beat the count? 3,4,5,6 and he's up... is he? Yes, he's up! The referee is taking a long look at him and he's going to allow it to continue!


The cut above Sam Makatua's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Makatua misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Gibson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Makatua.

Makatua is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Gibson engages and cracks Makatua with a massive lead left hook - Makatua tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Gibson is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
