The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Klakinski wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Stephens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Klakinski walks away with a smile on his face. Stephens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stephens feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Stephens gets control of Klakinski's arms and successfully pulls guard. Stephens will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Klakinski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stephens is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Klakinski can do to turn this around?
Stephens is pulling down on Klakinski's head. It's preventing any offense from Klakinski, at least for the moment.
Stephens is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Klakinski is looking to escape.

Stephens tries to clinch up but Klakinski circles away and keeps his distance.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stephens misses with the combination.

Well Stephens has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
