The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aires throws a big shot that misses.
Aires fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Luka looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Aires throws a leg kick but Luka sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Luka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Luka throws a series of punches but Aires moves out of range.
Aires has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Luka is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Aires has hold of one of Luka's legs. Luka is fighting the takedown attempt but Aires gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Aires accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Luka controls Aires momentarily but Aires frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Luka seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Luka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Luka tries to get out of the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Faimalaga Luka will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aires postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Luka in real trouble here! The ref calls for Luka to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
