PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robin Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Dukes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robin Hood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Dukes!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hood misses the shot to the body.
A shot to the body from Hood misses
and Dukes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dukes looks to clinch
and Hood cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hood throws a good cross that connects.
Dukes misses the shot to the body.
Nice shot lands for Dukes.
Dukes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hood was well out of range. Poor timing from Dukes.
Dukes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dukes fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Dukes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hood.
A little jabbing left from Dukes on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Dukes lands with a nice combination. Hood backs away looking to recover.
Dukes should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Dukes pushes Hood back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Hood tries to circle away but Dukes has him pinned against the cage.
Dukes throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Dukes keeps control of Hood as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hood has had enough of the clinch but Dukes keeps him there for the moment.

Dukes pushes Hood back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Dukes lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Hood or not.

Dukes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Dukes lands on the inside with an uppercut.


Hood is rocked!
Dukes struggles to land a body shot inside as Hood controls his hands.
Hood wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dukes has him pressed against the cage.
Hood's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Dukes lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Oh Hood is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dukes lands a hook that snaps the head of Hood backwards.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dukes works on Hood's body with a couple of short punches.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Dukes.
Dukes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hood's defenses.
Hood is trying to break the clinch but Dukes has him pressed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A nice side step and Dukes releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hood takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hood throws a series of punches but Dukes avoids them all with ease.
Hood ducks right into an uppercut from Dukes.
Dukes throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Hood crashing down! Hood tries to stagger back to his feet but Dukes just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Hood asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Dukes!
An out of breath Frank Dukes thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
