Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, Luke Jones! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reza Katebi! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones thumps Katebi with a low kick. A big left from Jones misses. Katebi pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Katebi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Katebi.

Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing. Katebi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jones connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Katebi scrambles back to his feet. Katebi dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut! The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nice uppercut lands for Katebi. That snapped Jones's head back.

Jones moves out of range of the leg kick from Katebi. Jones half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. A nice inside leg kick there by Jones. That's going to slow Katebi down. Jones connects with a solid leg kick.

Jones changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Katebi has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Katebi.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jones sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Katebi tries to land a body kick and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Katebi didn't expect that. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jones's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Katebi is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Katebi controlling Jones's posture. Katebi wants to sweep but no luck. Jones wants to control from the top but Katebi keeps moving. Jones pushing down on Katebi's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Katebi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Good work by Jones as he checks the leg kick. Jones attempts a counter takedown but Katebi avoids it well and moves away. Jones misses with a straight right. Katebi throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Katebi tried to score with a low kick but Jones checks it. Katebi walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jones checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Katebi is looking to chop away at Jones's legs. Katebi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Jones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A good leg kick by Jones. Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Katebi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jones. Jones obviously looking to wear him down.

and Katebi counters with a straight right hand. Katebi lands with a shot to the body. Jones finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luke Jones will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
