Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angelo Death (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akihiko Yamato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angelo Death! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akihiko Yamato! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Death bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yamato's head backwards. A telegraphed right hand from Death misses the target. Yamato tries a quick counter leg kick but Death is wise to it. Yamato dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Death. That did some damage! Akihiko Yamato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yamato takes a body punch but keeps moving. Yamato scores with a head kick.
Yamato ducks under a wild hook from Death. Yamato dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Death. That did some damage! Death tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yamato was well out of range. Poor timing from Death. Yamato is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Yamato defending well as Death loads up on a big left hand. Yamato scores with a head kick. Death tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Angelo Death has been cut. Yamato walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Death loads up on a big right hand but Yamato slips the punch. Death backing away here, and Yamato unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Yamato throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Death misses with an uppercut. Yamato is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Death misses with a looping left. Yamato tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yamato walks into a left hand.
It looks like Akihiko Yamato has been cut. Death throws a sloppy body shot
and Yamato counters with a head kick. That will keep Death thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Yamato staying out of range there. Yamato clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yamato misses with a short punch on the inside. Yamato working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Yamato digs a right hand into Death's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Death's gas tank. Yamato is stalling here.

Yamato is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Death is defending well for now. Yamato just leaning against Death, taking a breather.

Yamato pushes Death back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Yamato working Death over with knees to the body. Yamato is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Death trying to control the position but instead, Yamato has worked for underhooks and has pushed Death into the cage. Yamato has Death pushed against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamato's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Yamato receives a warning from the referee for stalling. A short left from Yamato. Death is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Yamato lands an uppercut. Yamato is struggling to control the position. Yamato is stalling here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Death prevents a body shot from Yamato. Yamato softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Yamato has a couple of punches blocked by Death.

Yamato just leaning against Death, taking a breather. Come on Yamato - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The crowd are getting on Yamato's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Akihiko Yamato. Death has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Yamato. Death throws out a token jab with nothing on it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akihiko Yamato dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Death throws a looping overhand right but Yamato ducks down to avoid it. Yamato throws a big counter head kick but Death avoids it with no problem. Yamato has managed to clinch.
Yamato lands a hook that snaps the head of Death backwards. Yamato is pushing Death up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Yamato makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Yamato breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Death. Yamato does a little dance to reset his feet. Yamato explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yamato throws a lazy right hand but Death sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Yamato steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Death. Yamato needs to keep his hands up - Death had a free shot at his head there. Yamato tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Death manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Yamato thows a body kick. Death tries to catch it but that hurt him. Yamato with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Yamato gets through Death's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Death is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Yamato is keeping busy. Yamato breaks from the clinch.
Yamato ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Death chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Yamato can pounce on him.
Death ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yamato moves away. Yamato moves out of range of the strikes. Yamato has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Yamato slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamato throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Death. Death misses the jab. Akihiko Yamato seems to be getting the better of the standup. Yamato tries a head kick but it misses.
Death throws an overhand right that lands on Yamato's shoulder, as Yamato tries to avoid the shot. Yamato connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Yamato throws a sloppy head kick and Death moves out of range easily. Yamato scores with a leg kick.
Death misses with a hook. Yamato ducked under it nicely. A swing and a miss from Death. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Yamato in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Yamato throws a nice head kick!
Yamato lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Yamato uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Death. Yamato throws a fast counter high kick but Death manages to duck under it in time. Death avoids the head kick by Yamato.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Akihiko Yamato! A relieved looking Akihiko Yamato thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
