Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clement Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Clement Wright has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Clement Wright seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clement Wright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Mara! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mara looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wright appears to be looking for a big counter. Mara manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wright on his heels. He'll look to pass Wright's guard now, I'm sure. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mara is pushing down on Wright's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wright is fighting to maintain full guard but Mara has managed to sneak the leg through. Wright really is a fat lump. Mara is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wright sees it coming and defends easily. Mara seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wright does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Mara trying to mount his opponent but Wright defends it. Mara is trying to work for a kimura but Wright is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mara is looking for a kimura here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wright striking from the bottom. Mara prevents Wright from standing back up.
Wright might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mara seems to be working for a kimura but Wright defends the submission attempt. Wright scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Mara manages to mount him!
Wright tries to hold on but Mara postures up. Mara looking to secure an arm triangle but Wright defends it well. Mara is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wright is surviving well by controlling Mara's body position as best he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wright is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Mara forces the positional change into back control. Mara is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Mara has the hooks in. Wright is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Mara tightening his grip on Wright, looking for the choke. Wright is trying to stand back up. Wright tries to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wright is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Wright is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Mara is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wright can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Mara working for a guillotine from mount but Wright is in no mood to give up. Mara jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Wright manages to avoid the submission attempt. Wright is looking to reverse the position. Mara working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright tries to buck Mara off but Mara is having none of it. Mara wants to control but Wright is keeping him busy. Wright tries to improve position but can't. Mara has an Americana. Wright didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mara is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mara hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). John Mara!
