Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lionel Lindsay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lionel Lindsay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Pettis! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pettis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lindsay has managed to clinch.
Pettis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lindsay has him pressed against the cage. Lindsay lands a right hand that snaps the head of Pettis backwards. Lindsay swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Lindsay tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pettis avoids it. Pettis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lindsay has him pressed against the cage. Our sources have told us that Lindsay has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Pettis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pettis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It looked like Lindsay wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lindsay takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lindsay connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Pettis connects with a high kick. Pettis pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Lindsay tries to bum rush Pettis with a series of wild strikes but Pettis uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pettis throws a quick inside leg kick. The fight moves into the clinch position. Lindsay lands a right hand that snaps the head of Pettis backwards. Lindsay misses with a short punch on the inside. Pettis is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Pettis is looking to break free of the clinch but Lindsay has double underhooks. Pettis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Lindsay trying to land knees to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pettis drops his hands momentarily and Lindsay takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A slapping body kick lands there for Pettis.

A head kick misses from Pettis. Lindsay throws a jab but it's blocked by Pettis. A combination from Lindsay does no damage. Lindsay lands with a straight right. Pettis didn't see that one coming. Pettis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Lindsay tries to clinch but Pettis is having none of it. Lindsay scores with a jab to the head.
Pettis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Pete Pettis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pettis throws a head kick that misses. Pettis looks to land a body kick but Lindsay moved away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pettis.

Lindsay cracks Pettis with a good jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lindsay lands a jab. Lindsay lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Lindsay is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Pettis on the wrong end of a nice jab. Pettis lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lindsay takes a step back to recover. A head kick misses from Pettis. Lindsay is looking to counter punch. Pettis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pettis connects with a high kick. Lindsay throws a body shot but no joy. Pettis throws a half hearted mid kick. Lindsay attempts a counter takedown but Pettis avoids it well and moves away. Lindsay moves into the clinch successfully.
Lindsay is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pettis can do to turn this around? Lindsay misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Lindsay connects with a right hand. Pettis shakes it off. Lindsay with a hook. Lindsay connects with a single shot there. Lindsay throws the kick towards the body but Pettis avoids it. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pettis. Pettis throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Lionel Lindsay has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lindsay shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pettis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Lindsay passes Pettis's left leg - he's now in half guard. Lindsay is working for a kimura but Pettis is defending it quite comfortably.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lindsay looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lindsay is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Lindsay working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lindsay is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lindsay lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Lindsay is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pettis sees it coming and defends easily. Lindsay is trying for a kimura here. Pettis looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Lindsay wins by kimura!
