Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ted Mcbride! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Tucker! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcbride shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tucker as he jumps to the side. Tucker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mcbride! Mcbride pushes Tucker away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tucker gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Tucker is trying to get an arm triangle but Mcbride is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcbride is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tucker is looking to take a break and control but Mcbride is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tucker looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mcbride is avoiding damage well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tucker avoids the strikes from the bottom by Mcbride. Mcbride can't do much from the bottom here. Mcbride is trying to improve his position. Mcbride tries to escape but Tucker is in control. Tucker trying to control the position but Mcbride is working away. Tucker tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Tucker takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Mcbride to pass into mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mcbride regains half guard. Mcbride manages to get to full guard.
Mcbride striking from his own guard. Mcbride has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tucker's corner is telling him to maintain position. Mcbride will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Mcbride keeping moving, preventing Tucker from controlling successfully. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Mcbride bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tucker's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcbride keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Tucker's head. Mcbride could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Tucker wants to control the position but Mcbride says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Mcbride will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mcbride winds up and cracks Tucker with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mcbride working over Tucker with some ground and pound. Tucker looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Mcbride throwing shots but Tucker is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tucker blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mcbride. Tucker is trying to get back to full guard. Mcbride takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tucker has hold of Mcbride's hands but Mcbride slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mcbride slips a nice elbow through Tucker's hands, connecting with Tucker's forehead. Mcbride stands up out of the half guard. Tucker rushes Mcbride and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mcbride breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mcbride shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tucker is trying to defend but Mcbride finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tucker keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tucker is trying to get back to full guard. Tucker wants to control but Mcbride is keeping busy.

Mcbride fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Tucker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mcbride was covering up waiting for the punch and Tucker finishes the takedown easily into guard. Tucker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mcbride is looking for a triangle but Tucker pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mcbride is pressing down on Tucker's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Tucker trying to control but Mcbride is working from the bottom. Mcbride has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tucker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mcbride throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Tucker prevents Mcbride from getting back to his feet. Tucker advances to half guard. Mcbride is refusing to be controlled, as Tucker sits in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcbride flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mcbride throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tucker's waist but Tucker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mcbride off to one side. Tucker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tucker shapes to counter with a head kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Mcbride. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tucker rushes Mcbride and presses him up against the cage. Tucker using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mcbride has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tucker will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mcbride looks for a takedown but Tucker sprawls well. Mcbride shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tucker as he avoids it easily. Chris Tucker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tucker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mcbride, pushing him back against the cage. Tucker decides to pull guard. Mcbride in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mcbride's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Tucker has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mcbride is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Mcbride avoiding damage as Tucker throws knees to the body.

A frustrated look appears on Tucker's face as he tries to break the clinch. Tucker has Mcbride pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tucker pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mcbride tumbling to the mat - Tucker dives into Mcbride's guard. Mcbride looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tucker is one step ahead there. Mcbride wants to stand and escape but Tucker is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mcbride tries to strike from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Tucker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tucker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
