Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chev Chelios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Nitschke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chelios comes into the arena with In Waves blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

32 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Nitschke! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chelios dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A left and a right from Chelios both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Damian Nitschke has been cut. Nice body kick from Nitschke. Nitschke lands a nice looking body kick. Nitschke slips a jab from Chelios. Nice straight punches there by Chelios. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Chelios. Nitschke throws a leg kick which misses Chelios's front leg but catches the back leg as Chelios tries to avoid it. Chelios fails to land with a series of punches.
Chelios misses with a wild body shot. Nitschke is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chelios takes a swing at Nitschke's ribcage but misses. Nitschke throws a push kick but Chelios slaps the foot to one side. Chelios misses with a hook. Nitschke throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Chelios fires out a quick counter leg kick but Nitschke just manages to avoid it. Chelios misses with a double jab.
Chelios looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nitschke pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Chelios misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nitschke.
Damian Nitschke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chelios swings for the body but Nitschke moves out of range.
Chelios misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A jab from Nitschke misses. Chelios moves out of range of the body kick. Chelios connects with a leg kick. Nitschke looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Nitschke rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Chelios counters with a three punch combo that has Nitschke backing up. Nitschke nods at Chelios to acknowledge the strikes. Nitschke has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Nitschke looks to land a right hand but Chelios moved out of range. Nitschke throws a jab but it's blocked by Chelios. Chelios avoids the body shot from Nitschke.
Nitschke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chelios ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Nitschke takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That has opened up Damian Nitschke's cut even more. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nitschke misses with a kick to the body.
Chelios fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nitschke on the side of the head.
Nitschke is rocked! Nitschke misses with a right hand and Chelios counters with a right hand from hell and Nitschke is out cold! A vicious knockout!

Our winner, Chev Chelios, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. Damian Nitschke spoke after the fight, saying 'He was a tough opponent and was the better man tonight. Best of luck to him in his future fights.'.
