Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bad Mood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Rainey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rainey fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rainey is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rainey goes for a double leg but Mood avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mood continues to drive forward.
It looked like Mood was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rainey.
Rainey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bad Mood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Rainey.
Rainey throws a head kick that misses.

and Rainey counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rainey lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mood's sensitive parts.

Mood tries to sprawl but Rainey drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mood is trying to control but can't.

Mood is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rainey pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mood has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rainey is working away from the top position though.

Rainey is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mood wants to get back to full guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Mood manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mood looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rainey wanted to stand there but Mood had control of the position.

Mood keeping moving, preventing Rainey from controlling successfully.
Rainey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rainey wanted to stand there but Mood had control of the position.
Mood can't keep his opponent in guard - Rainey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mood is looking to control Rainey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mood avoid being mounted?
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rainey throwing shots but Mood is blocking nicely.

Rainey is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mood defends it well.
Mood is trying to stand up here but Rainey is controlling him well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rainey is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mood has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mood is holding on to half guard well.
Rainey is thwarting Mood's attempts to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Mood shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rainey as he jumps to the side.
Mood sets himself, and Rainey steps forward looking for the clinch! Mood avoids it this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jake Rainey will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Rainey darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rainey wants to stand up but Mood is controlling the position.

Mood wants to control but Rainey is keeping busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mood is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rainey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mood does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rainey is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mood!

Mood wants to control but Rainey is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Rainey is working for a submission of some sort.
Rainey tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mood.
Mood has a hand on Rainey's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Rainey takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Mood wants to hold on but Rainey pushes him away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rainey controlling from the full mount.
Mood tries to lock up and control but Rainey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rainey raining down shots from the mount!
Mood sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Jake Rainey has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rainey is taking a breather. Mood says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mood is doing well to control the position and prevent Rainey from advancing to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Rainey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Mood avoids the body shot from Rainey.

Rainey feints and as Mood raises his hands in defense, Rainey changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rainey postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Rainey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mood has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rainey has managed to get both his arms back between Mood's legs - danger averted.

Mood is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rainey defends well.
Rainey wants to pass the guard but Mood is keeping the position.
Mood might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rainey is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rainey has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mood had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rainey defends it easily.
Rainey has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mood is proving hard to escape from.
Mood trying to keep a closed guard but Rainey is proving a slippery customer.
Rainey engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Mood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Mood isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rainey stacks Mood on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rainey!
Mood is looking to regain half guard here but Rainey keeps moving and retains side control.
Rainey controls the position.
Mood is trying to control Rainey's posture but Rainey avoids it.
Mood is looking to reverse the position.

Mood is not content to let Rainey control the position.
Rainey controls the position.

Rainey is trying to get an arm triangle but Mood is defending well.
Mood tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Rainey moves into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rainey tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mood has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rainey after a bit of a struggle.
Mood jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rainey walks away with a smile on his face. Mood gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rainey.
Rainey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mood stuffs the takedown attempt from Rainey. Rainey gets slowly back to his feet.
Bad Mood has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bad Mood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Rainey.
Rainey takes one to the side of the head.
Jake Rainey is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jake Rainey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rainey winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
