Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jolly Leg Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnus Tomonaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Tomonaka's choice of entrance music: Pistolero. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jolly Leg Byrd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magnus Tomonaka!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Byrd. Beautiful body shot.
Byrd jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Byrd on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tomonaka. Tomonaka obviously looking to wear him down.
Byrd thows a left - swing and a miss!
Byrd lands a nice shot to the body.
Tomonaka swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Tomonaka misses the target.
Tomonaka lunges at Byrd with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Byrd's hand.
Byrd fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Tomonaka scores with a decent looking hook.
Byrd misses with a hook. Tomonaka ducked under it nicely.
Byrd throws an off balance right hand
and Tomonaka counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tomonaka tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Byrd is able to avoid easily.
Byrd has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Beast Cartel in the buildup to the fight.
Byrd closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tomonaka quickly recovers to half guard.
Tomonaka regains full guard. Nicely done.
Byrd tries to free his leg and advance position but Tomonaka is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tomonaka pulls Byrd in to control the position.
Byrd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tomonaka swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Byrd trying to control but Tomonaka is working from the bottom.
Tomonaka throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Byrd escapes and throws Tomonaka's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Byrd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tomonaka, who protects the arm well.
Byrd wants to control but Tomonaka is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Byrd looking to control but instead Tomonaka has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Byrd works his way into side control.
Tomonaka wants to control but Byrd postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Byrd working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Tomonaka is trying to escape the position but Byrd is controlling the position.
Byrd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tomonaka tries to buck Byrd off but Byrd is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Byrd has an Americana. Tomonaka didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Byrd is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Byrd hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jolly Leg Byrd!
Magnus Tomonaka was interviewed post fight and said 'Arigato gozaimash'ta. A worthy opponent.'.
