Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between demian maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cale Sheas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
maia looks for a takedown but Sheas sprawls well.

maia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

maia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sheas tries to avoid it but maia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sheas to the ground. Sheas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
maia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sheas as he jumps to the side.

Sheas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
maia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sheas is fending him off so far but maia persists. Nope, Sheas circles away and we're back to standing.

Sheas wants to lay and pray for a moment but maia keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sheas tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
maia gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cale Sheas dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sheas is trying to trip maia. He has hold of a leg but maia is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sheas persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

maia has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sheas doesn't defend quickly enough and maia has managed to lock this one up! Can Sheas escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to maia on a fantastic submission victory.
