Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gray Hawkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Pondingham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkes's entrance music is Not Gonna Die. A fine choice. Gray Hawkes has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gray Hawkes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Douglas Pondingham! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawkes slips a jab and a cross from Pondingham.
Pondingham throws a right and a left that both miss. Pondingham has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Hawkes closes the distance and pushes Pondingham back into the cage. Our sources have told us that Hawkes has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Hawkes prevents the takedown attempt.
Hawkes pulls guard. Pondingham scoring with some ground and pound. Pondingham working some strikes from top position. Pondingham wants to control from the top but Hawkes keeps moving. Hawkes wants to sweep here but Pondingham controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pondingham cracks Hawkes with a solid left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pondingham works over Hawkes with some ground and pound from guard. Pondingham slips nicely into half guard. Pondingham missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hawkes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pondingham looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hawkes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pondingham missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Hawkes taking some punishment here, with Pondingham in his half guard. Hawkes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pondingham pulls his head out easily. Hawkes on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawkes trying to hold on to Pondingham's head to control him but Pondingham postures up.
Pondingham not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pondingham looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hawkes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hawkes is trying to maintain the position but Pondingham is very close to passing his half guard. Ground and pound from Pondingham.
Hawkes is rocked! Pondingham working over Hawkes with some ground and pound. Hawkes looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Oh Hawkes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Pondingham lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Hawkes! More strikes land and this one is all over! Pondingham jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Douglas Pondingham! Our winner, Douglas Pondingham, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. In defeat, Gray Hawkes stepped up to the mic, saying 'Should have trained better.'.
