The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meade throws a series of punches but Sever avoids them all with ease.
Sever shoots in for a takedown but Meade shows good takedown defense.
Sever shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sever showed some decent athleticism there.
Sever seems to be looking for submissions.
Sever is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meade looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sever is working for a kimura but Meade is defending it quite comfortably.
We've been hearing good reports from Sever's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Sever is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Meade looks calm but he's in trouble here. Sever gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Meade is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Sever lets go of the hold and Meade can pop his arm back in it's socket.
