Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Colin Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aneka Malone! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott keeps the fight on the outside. Scott looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Malone is fending him off so far but Scott persists. Nope, Malone circles away and we're back to standing. Scott feints and as Malone raises his hands in defense, Scott changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Scott stands up from Malone's guard - Scott perhaps looking for a knockout. Malone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Scott circles away. Scott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Malone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Scott somewhat. Malone doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Malone tries for a takedown but Scott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Malone throws a wild combination but nothing lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Malone tries to land a front kick but Scott steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Scott throwing a counter right hand but Malone manages to avoid it. Malone throws a leg kick and Scott counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Malone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Malone wants to stand but Scott is controlling the position. Scott sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malone will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Scott wants to control from the top but Malone keeps moving. Malone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Scott trying to control but Malone is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Malone can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Scott works a leg free and moves into half guard. Scott is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Malone! Scott working the ground and pound effectively.
Scott can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Malone is looking to escape. Malone looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Malone is trying to get back to his feet but Scott has full control of the position and if anything, Malone has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Even with his hooks in, Scott manages to miss with strikes from the back. Scott is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malone is trying to break free.
Scott is working for a rear naked choke. Malone is not defending it well and Scott has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Malone refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Malone's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
