Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carmelo Felix!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Felix throws a right hand that Gomez ducks under and follows up with a left that Gomez also avoids with ease.
Felix drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Felix tries to stand but Gomez is controlling from the bottom.
Gomez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Felix on the ground.
Gomez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Felix has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gomez is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Felix's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Felix closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gomez to the mat! Gomez manages to get full guard.

Felix is looking to stand up but Gomez won't let him.
Gomez has momentary wrist control but Felix slips an elbow through the middle.
Felix is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gomez trying to keep a closed guard but Felix is proving a slippery customer.

Felix wants to get up but he can't break Gomez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Felix slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Felix stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Felix drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Felix moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Felix is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gomez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The referee asks Felix politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Felix prefers to stall for the moment though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

It looks like Doug Gomez has been cut.
Felix content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Felix closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Felix scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Gomez is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Felix can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
