Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Lockheart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Lockheart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rodriguez. Lockheart tries to sprawl but Rodriguez drives through with a takedown into half guard. Lockheart is looking for a sweep. Rodriguez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lockheart manages to get to full guard.
Lockheart not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lockheart is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Morbid Conditioning, Trans, Esc School $1000 that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Lockheart might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lockheart has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lockheart continues to stall. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Lockheart looking for a sweep. Not yet Lockheart, not yet.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Rodriguez fails with the takedown. As Rodriguez tries to get set, Lockheart tries to push him back and clinch up but Rodriguez manages to avoid the attempt. Rodriguez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lockheart sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rodriguez somewhat. Kurt Lockheart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Rodriguez. Lockheart doesn't manage to clinch there - Rodriguez circles away.
Lockheart shoots in and bounces Rodriguez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez keeping full guard, as Lockheart tries to pass. Rodriguez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rodriguez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lockheart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lockheart content to stall in guard here. Lockheart stands up from guard. Let's bang! Rodriguez moves into the clinch successfully.
Rodriguez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lockheart avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Rodriguez tries for a takedown but Lockheart manages to get underhooks.
Lockheart has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rodriguez clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Lockheart's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lockheart is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Rodriguez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lockheart gets his way!

Kurt Lockheart dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lockheart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lockheart engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Rodriguez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lockheart trying to control the pace. Lockheart drops an elbow to the side of Rodriguez's head. Rodriguez is not content to let Lockheart control the position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lockheart in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lockheart is trying to control. Rodriguez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lockheart tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rodriguez feints the counter takedown. Lockheart closes the distance and clinches. Lockheart looking for a takedown. Lockheart is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rodriguez can't fight it off and eventually Lockheart manages to take the fight to the floor. Rodriguez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lockheart forces his way into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lockheart controlling the action here. Rodriguez is refusing to be controlled, as Lockheart sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rodriguez actively working from the bottom here. Lockheart decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Lockheart has closed the distance and engaged Rodriguez in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rodriguez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lockheart is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rodriguez to the mat. Rodriguez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Lockheart showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Lockheart trying to control but Rodriguez is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lockheart trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lockheart engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Rodriguez fails with a takedown attempt. Lockheart tries to counter by clinching up but Rodriguez breaks away and moves out of range. Rodriguez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lockheart moves into the clinch. Lockheart stops a takedown attempt from Rodriguez.
Kurt Lockheart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Rodriguez. Lockheart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lockheart pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rodriguez tumbling to the mat - Lockheart dives into Rodriguez's guard. Rodriguez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lockheart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lockheart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's one minute gone in the round. Lockheart's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Rodriguez looking for a guillotine here but Lockheart defends easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lockheart closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lockheart lands in his opponent's guard. Kurt Lockheart is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lockheart engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Tom Rodriguez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rodriguez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lockheart defends it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Kurt Lockheart showed his dominance in that final round. Well Lockheart has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
