Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Laban Ladvik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gabel McStravick! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McStravick moves into range and clinches up with Ladvik. McStravick has Ladvik pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. McStravick pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ladvik tumbling to the mat - McStravick dives into Ladvik's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. McStravick stopping the sweep attempt from Ladvik. McStravick is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. McStravick trying to control but Ladvik is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McStravick stays in close to Ladvik's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ladvik keeping moving, preventing McStravick from controlling successfully. McStravick is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ladvik wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. McStravick shoots in and bounces Ladvik off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Ladvik is controlling McStravick's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McStravick trying to control the position from guard on top but Ladvik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McStravick stands up from guard. Let's bang! McStravick takes one to the chin there. McStravick takes a jab right on the kisser.
McStravick attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Ladvik changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. McStravick moves into the clinch successfully.
Ladvik lands a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McStravick manages to break the clinch.
Ladvik throws a low kick but it's checked well by McStravick. McStravick closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. McStravick with the ground and pound but Ladvik regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Ladvik trying to control here.
McStravick is trying to control. Ladvik wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. McStravick throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McStravick stands up from half guard. McStravick throws the kick towards the body but Ladvik avoids it. Ladvik tries to land a leg kick but McStravick saw it coming and moves away.
McStravick throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Ladvik misses the shot to the body. McStravick forces Ladvik back against the cage and clinches. McStravick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. McStravick closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ladvik's guard. Ladvik might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McStravick pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ladvik is keeping the position for now. Ladvik wants to stand and escape but McStravick is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gabel McStravick dominated that round. That's time! Ladvik's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
McStravick pushes Ladvik up against the cage in a clinch. Ladvik wants to get back to striking at distance but McStravick won't allow it.

Our sources have told us that Ladvik has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Ladvik is trying to force a seperation but McStravick has the dominant position. McStravick is trying to trip Ladvik. He has hold of a leg but Ladvik is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. McStravick persists though and gets the takedown into guard. McStravick is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. McStravick's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ladvik avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. McStravick sitting in guard, not really doing much. McStravick stands and steps away. Ladvik gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. McStravick closes the distance and pushes Ladvik back into the cage. Ladvik tries to pull guard but McStravick holds him up against the cage and eventually Ladvik drops back down to his feet.
McStravick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McStravick changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ladvik looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McStravick throws a strike aimed at the side of Ladvik's head but Ladvik avoids it well. Ladvik on the wrong end of some ground and pound. McStravick wants to control but Ladvik is keeping him busy. McStravick tries to advance to mount but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ladvik is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ladvik gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. McStravick keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. McStravick trying to control from half guard but Ladvik is working away. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. McStravick lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ladvik backs up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. McStravick clinches. McStravick has clasped his hands together around Ladvik's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Ladvik is not content to let McStravick control the position. Ladvik tries to improve position but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gabel McStravick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
McStravick rushes Ladvik and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. McStravick prevents Ladvik from breaking the clinch. McStravick tightens his grip and picks Ladvik up, before dumping him to the ground. Ladvik manages to land in guard. Ladvik kicks McStravick off and gets to his feet. Ladvik gets tackled into the cage by McStravick. McStravick maintains the clinch. McStravick breaks the clinch.
McStravick dives in and scores a takedown into Ladvik's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McStravick slips nicely into half guard. McStravick scores with a couple of good hammerfists. McStravick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ladvik pushes McStravick off looking to stand but McStravick dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McStravick seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Ladvik is looking to control McStravick's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ladvik avoid being mounted? Ladvik misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Ladvik is trying to stand up here but McStravick is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. McStravick is working for a kimura but Ladvik is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round. McStravick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ladvik keeps working.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. McStravick tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Left hook, right uppercut from Ladvik. McStravick throws a head kick that misses. Thud! ouch! good body kick from McStravick - that will leave a mark!

McStravick throws a sloppy head kick and Ladvik counters by moving into the clinch. Ladvik is trying to break the clinch but McStravick has him pressed against the cage. Gabel McStravick is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ladvik tries to circle away but McStravick has him pinned against the cage. McStravick lands an elbow inside. McStravick swings wildly with an uppercut but Ladvik uses good head movement to avoid it. McStravick prevents Ladvik from breaking the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McStravick breaks from the clinch.
Laban Ladvik has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McStravick shoots in and gets a takedown into Ladvik's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Gabel McStravick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McStravick has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
