Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dane Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cook is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick. Charlie Meyers could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dane Cook's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Meyers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Dane Cook! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meyers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cook scores with a nice right hand.
Cook stuffs the takedown attempt from Meyers. Meyers gets slowly back to his feet. Meyers bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Cook lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Cook throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Meyers takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Charlie Meyers has been cut. Cook lands a glancing blow to the side of Meyers's head.
Meyers is rocked! Cook lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meyers circles away quickly and effectively. Oh Meyers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Cook looks to land a left hand but Meyers moved out of range nicely. Meyers seems to have got his legs back now. Cook is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meyers. Meyers looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Meyers shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cook manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cook keeping moving, preventing Meyers from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyers wants to pass the guard but Cook is keeping the position. Cook keeping moving, preventing Meyers from controlling successfully. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Meyers stopping the sweep attempt from Cook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Meyers postures up in Cook's guard and throws a big left but Cook blocks it. Cook is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Meyers looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Meyers tries to clinch there but Cook circles away.
Meyers doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cook counters with a series of strikes. Meyers will be more careful next time no doubt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlie Meyers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cook jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Cook feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Meyerss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Meyers fails with the takedown. Cook throws out a powerful jab. Cook rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Meyers moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A slow jab from Cook misses its intended target. Meyers does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyers feints and as Cook raises his hands in defense, Meyers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Meyers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cook swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cook looking for a sweep. Not yet Cook, not yet. Meyers working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Cook wants to sweep here but Meyers controlling him for the moment. Meyers trying to control but Cook is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meyers looking to pass the guard. Meyers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cook swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cook looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A telegraphed right hand from Meyers misses the target. Meyers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cook avoids it really well and circles away. Meyers shoots in looking for a takedown but Cook manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Meyers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Meyers fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dane Cook dominated that round. The cut man is working on Charlie Meyers's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Decent striking displayed by Cook there. Cook will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Cook feints a jab promting Meyers to slip. Cook then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Meyers slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Dane Cook seems to be getting the better of the standup. Meyers moves out of range of the strikes. Meyers misses with a kick to the body.

Meyers appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Meyers walks into a left hand. Meyers ducks under a wild hook from Cook. Meyers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cook but Cook pushes him off and we're back to square one. Meyers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cook avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyers moves into the clinch. Cook can't find room to land a body shot as Meyers controls the action.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Cook stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Cook lands on the inside with an uppercut. Cook tries to work over Meyers's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Meyers blocks a punch to the side of the head.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlie Meyers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cook breaks the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meyers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cook sprawls well initially but Meyers persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Meyers wants to take a breather but Cook is having none of it. Meyers wants to work for an arm triangle but Cook is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cook makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cook. Meyers is looking to work some ground and pound but Cook has wrist control. Cook being controlled here, momentarily. Cook is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Meyers is aware though and is defending well. Meyers throws an elbow that misses. Cook uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Meyers's guard. Nice move by Cook!

Meyers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cook trying to control the position from guard on top but Meyers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cook accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Meyers keeping moving, preventing Cook from controlling successfully. Cook looking to pass the guard. Cook passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Meyers manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Meyers is trying to control the action in half guard but Cook is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Meyers missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Charlie Meyers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cook is not content to let Meyers control the position. Cook wants to improve his position but Meyers is controlling well.
Meyers is looking to take a break and control but Cook is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Meyers takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dane Cook showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Charlie Meyers's cut. That's time! Meyers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Meyers is looking to clinch. Cook has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Cook lands with a nice body punch. Meyers shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cook defends it nicely. Cook slips a straight right by Meyers. Meyers takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Nice shot by Cook. Cook ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Nice cross by Cook. Charlie Meyers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Meyers shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cook as he avoids it easily. It seemed like Cook was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. A looping hook to the body misses from Meyers. Cook does a little dance to reset his feet. Meyers on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Cook fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Meyers looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Dane Cook is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cook throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Meyers feinted with a counter takedown. Cook lands with a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook moves into range and clinches up with Meyers. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cook misses with a hook to the ribs.

Cook has had enough of the clinch but Meyers keeps him there for the moment. A frustrated look appears on Cook's face as he tries to break the clinch. Cook is trying to force a seperation but Meyers has the dominant position. Cook cracks Meyers with a nice body shot. Meyers drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cook pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cook lands a lovely overhand right. Meyers on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cook. Cook obviously looking to wear him down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A solid leg kick lands there for Cook.
Meyers is looking to clinch but Cook is avoiding it.
Cook throws a right and a left that Meyers avoids nicely. Meyers misses the shot to the body. Cook has Meyers up against the cage in a clinch.

Dane Cook is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Meyers tries to pull guard but Cook holds him up against the cage and eventually Meyers drops back down to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A head punch blocked on the inside by Meyers. Meyers is looking to break free of the clinch but Cook has double underhooks. Meyers has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cook avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Charlie Meyers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Meyers is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Cook is defending well. A shot in the inside from Cook. Cook's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Meyers throws a right hand that Cook ducks under and follows up with a left that Cook also avoids with ease.
And that's the end of the fight! Dane Cook comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Cook winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
