Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Tobikan Judan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jonny Sellers! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sellers leaves Judan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sellers is looking to slow Judan down with leg kicks. Judan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sellers swivels and escapes. Judan rushes Sellers and presses him up against the cage. Judan manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Judan throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Judan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sellers manages to get himself to full guard.
Sellers wants to stand and escape but Judan is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Judan trying to control the position from guard on top but Sellers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Judan preventing the sweep. Judan passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Judan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sellers is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Judan has hold of Sellers's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sellers seems comfortable defending it but Judan has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sellers is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sellers is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Judan couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tobikan Judan!
