The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James looks for a takedown but Skilgannon sprawls well.
It seemed like Skilgannon was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
James shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Skilgannon is trying to defend but James finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
James lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Skilgannon flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
It looks like James is going to stand back up.
Skilgannon wants to get back to full guard but James has mounted him!
Skilgannon is wriggling around trying to escape.

James really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
