Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jegor Pawlow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Palhares will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jegor Pawlow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Palhares! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pawlow pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pawlow slips a jab and a cross from Palhares.
Pawlow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Palhares gets tackled into the cage by Pawlow. Pawlow maintains the clinch. Pawlow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Palhares throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pawlow. Pawlow fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Pawlow counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Palhares is trying to maintain the position but Pawlow is very close to passing his half guard. Palhares is looking for a sweep. Pawlow is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pawlow is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Palhares! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pawlow unloading with bombs!
That's one minute gone in the round. Pawlow prevents Palhares from getting the reversal. Pawlow knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palhares on the ground. Pawlow controlling from mount. Palhares looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Palhares is working to get back to half guard.
Pawlow tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Palhares is trying to reverse the position but instead Pawlow has taken his back - oops! Palhares is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pawlow controlling well, preventing Palhares from escaping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Palhares is really stuck here.
Pawlow has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Palhares. Palhares can't escape the position.

Pawlow lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Palhares hold on?!
Pawlow has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Palhares has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pawlow is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Pawlow avoiding Palhares 's attempts to control his hands. Palhares is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Pawlow just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pawlow looking for the choke from the back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jegor Pawlow dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Pawlow instigates a clinch. Palhares jumps guard but Pawlow stands there with Palhares around his waist. Palhares gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Pawlow works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Pawlow is looking to stand up but Palhares won't let him. Jegor Pawlow overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pawlow engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Palhares looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pawlow passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palhares wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pawlow works his way into full mount! Pawlow takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pawlow has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Pawlow goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Palhares turns into him and now he's in Pawlow's guard.

Pawlow keeping moving, preventing Palhares from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pawlow on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pawlow tries to get out of the position. Pawlow had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Palhares defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palhares trying to control the position from guard on top but Pawlow is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pawlow is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Palhares can do to turn this around? Pawlow controlling the position. This is a sustained period of stalling by Pawlow. Palhares throwing strikes but missing. Pawlow looking for a guillotine here but Palhares defends easily.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jegor Pawlow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pawlow fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pawlow staying out of range there. Palhares throws a combination that misses and Pawlow counters with a lovely straight right hand! Palhares lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Palhares. Pawlow shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Palhares as he jumps to the side. Palhares lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pawlow circles away quickly and effectively. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Palhares throws an overhand right that lands on Pawlow's shoulder, as Pawlow tries to avoid the shot. Pawlow circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pawlow darts in and clinches Palhares up against the cage. Palhares fails to pull guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jegor Pawlow dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Palhares displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pawlow. Palhares let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Palhares is looking to clinch. Jimmy Palhares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pawlow avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pawlow changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Palhares misses with the combination.
Pawlow throws a head kick that misses. Palhares throws a body punch but Pawlow moves out of range. Palhares looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pawlow shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Palhares as he avoids it easily. Palhares swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Jimmy Palhares seems to be getting the better of the standup. Pawlow gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pawlow has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Palhares uses from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pawlow pulls Palhares in close to his closed guard and prevents Palhares from doing any damage or advancing position. Pawlow wants to sweep but no luck. Pawlow throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Pawlow wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Palhares avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Palhares stands and throws Pawlow's legs to the side, diving into side control. Palhares in side control, throwing shots but Pawlow defends. Palhares tries to stand but Pawlow is controlling his head. Pawlow sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Palhares is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Pawlow still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Pawlow has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Pawlow staying calm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palhares wants to get back to his feet. Palhares trying his best to control but Pawlow has mounted him. Palhares is desperately trying to improve his position but Pawlow has a good base and remains in mount. Palhares is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Palhares tries to reverse the position but Pawlow maintains control. Palhares keeps trying to improve his position. Pawlow lands a big elbow. Pawlow controlling the pace for now. Pawlow jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Palhares is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Palhares and Pawlow has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

And that's the end of the fight! Jegor Pawlow showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pawlow, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
