Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Noir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noir comes to the cage accompanied by Pride. Hong has chosen Hong Entrance Song as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marshall Noir!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kris Hong!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hong throws a jab when Noir was well out of range.
Noir half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Noir manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hong on his heels. He'll look to pass Hong's guard now, I'm sure.
Hong utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Noir is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Noir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Noir postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hong looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Noir wants to free his trapped foot but Hong is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Noir crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hong - the referee stops the clock and Noir gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hong. Noir manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Hong avoids a punch combination nicely.
Noir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Noir tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Noir somewhat.

Kris Hong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hong ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Noir moves away.

Noir appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Noir looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hong will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Noir thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Noir is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hong has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Noir connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Hong to escape the position.

Noir is punishing Hong with some ground and pound.
Hong tries to escape but Noir has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Hong is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Noir gets his way!

Noir has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hong's face.
