Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonathan Karasova! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Terlajak Laris! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karasova stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Karasova wants it to stay on the feet. Horrible takedown attempt by Laris or perhaps it was just good defense by Karasova, which made it look bad. Karasova closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Laris to the mat! Laris manages to get full guard. Karasova might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Laris working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Karasova. Karasova pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Laris is keeping the position for now. Laris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karasova stays in close to Laris's body and controls the position. Laris has an active guard here but Karasova has managed to pass into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karasova sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Laris defending well though. Karasova not doing much here.
Karasova decides to return to a standing position. Karasova circles away from the clinch attempt.
A swing and a miss from Karasova. Laris tries to counter by closing the distance. Karasova moves forwards but Laris connects with a nice, crisp jab. Karasova swats away the attempt to clinch by Laris.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karasova manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Laris on his heels. He'll look to pass Laris's guard now, I'm sure. Karasova slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Laris trying to keep a closed guard but Karasova is proving a slippery customer.
Karasova stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laris swivels though and keeps the full guard. Karasova gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karasova drives through with a takedown into guard. Karasova is breathing heavily. Laris looking to control.

Karasova is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Karasova working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Laris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Karasova manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. It looked like Karasova was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Karasova fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Laris, pushing him back against the cage. Laris tries to pull guard but Karasova won't allow it.
Jonathan Karasova has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terlajak Laris. Karasova pulls guard successfully.

Laris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Karasova swats him away and circles back towards the center. Laris fails with a takedown attempt. Karasova looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Karasova is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Laris can do to turn this around? Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Laris tries to get to full guard but Karasova has control of the leg. Laris tries to kick Karasova off but Karasova keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Karasova decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Nice straight punches there by Laris. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Laris. Karasova keeps the fight on the outside. Karasova scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Laris is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Laris is trying to control Karasova's posture but Karasova avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Laris tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karasova tries to advance to mount but can't. Laris is trying to control Karasova's posture but Karasova avoids it. Karasova trying to control the position but Laris is working away. Karasova decides to stand back up. Karasova steps back and let's Laris get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Laris connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Laris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Karasova manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Karasova tries to counter with a takedown but Laris is quick to defend against it. Laris misses with a few strikes there.
Laris works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. The fight stays on the outside here - Laris looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Karasova swings for the body but Laris moves out of range.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Laris looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karasova engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Karasova wants to control from the top but Laris keeps moving. Karasova gets to his feet. Laris looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Karasova takes one to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Karasova gets a double leg takedown into Laris's guard. Karasova looking to pass the guard. Karasova trying to control the position from guard on top but Laris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Laris is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Laris is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Laris shoots in for a takedown but Karasova shows good takedown defense. Laris swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Karasova. Laris is looking to clinch. Karasova dives in and scores a takedown into Laris's guard. Karasova content to stall in guard here. Karasova postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Karasova pushes down on Laris's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jonathan Karasova is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Laris is looking to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Jonathan Karasova showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Karasova, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
