Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryan Gorgel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kev Bel! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bel keeps the fight on the outside. Bel throws out a counter right but Gorgel avoids it with no problem. Bel throws a nice looking combination but Gorgel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kev Bel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gorgel. Gorgel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bel swats away the attempt to clinch by Gorgel. Gorgel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bel.
Gorgel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gorgel somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gorgel. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Gorgel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bel scores with a push kick. Bel throws a looping overhand right but Gorgel ducks down to avoid it. Bel moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. That kick from Bel tenderised Gorgel's leg. Gorgel is trying to keep his angry face on. Gorgel throws a sloppy head kick and Bel moves out of range easily. Bel dips to his left and cracks Gorgel with an uppercut! Gorgel is looking to clinch but Bel is avoiding it.
Bel lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gorgel is rocked! Gorgel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Oh Gorgel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Bel drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Gorgel's head, knocking him out cold! Bel is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kev Bel!
