Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oil Slick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adaru Kitano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slick comes into the arena with Careful With That Axe Eugene blaring out of the sound system. Kitano has chosen Arch Enemy - We Will Rise as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oil Slick!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adaru Kitano!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kitano but Kitano pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Slick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kitano's waist but Kitano gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Slick off to one side.
A jab from Kitano misses.
Slick bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kitano tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Slick wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kitano is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Slick is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Slick is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kitano gets full guard.
Kitano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Slick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Slick is looking to work some ground and pound but Kitano has wrist control.

Slick drops back looking for a leg! Kitano is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kitano manages to kick Slick off! Slick jumps back into Kitano's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Slick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kitano but Kitano pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Slick shoots in but Kitano avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A big left from Kitano misses.

Kitano throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kitano tries to bum rush Slick with a series of wild strikes but Slick uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kitano shoots in but no luck this time.
Kitano wants to slow Slick down by chopping away at his legs.
Slick fails with the takedown
and Kitano counters with a shoot takedown. Slick fights it but they end up in guard.
Slick is breathing heavily.
Kitano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slick swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kitano drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Slick manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kitano has Slick in his guard.
Slick throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kitano works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Slick stands and throws Kitano's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kitano is looking to regain half guard here but Slick keeps moving and retains side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Slick wants to control but Kitano is keeping him busy.
Slick is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kitano has escaped the position, nice work there.

so Kitano counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Slick has his foot on Kitano's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kitano works his way back into a safe position though.
Kitano drops back, looking for a kneebar! Slick looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Slick looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Slick!

Slick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kitano paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Slick can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kitano is looking to escape.

Slick has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kitano's face.
Kitano has left one of his arms exposed and Slick doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Kitano screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
