Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jules Adkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Neves! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neves changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Adkins tries to avoid it but Neves manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Adkins to the ground. Adkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Neves gets caught flat footed, as Adkins shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Neves wants to stand up but Adkins is controlling him. Adkins postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Adkins trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Neves preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Adkins throws a big right hand that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Adkins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Adkins working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Adkins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Neves wants to stand but Adkins is controlling the position. Adkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ricardo Neves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
