Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Menchini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyler Maiden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kyler Maiden! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maiden shoots in and gets a takedown into Menchini's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maiden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Menchini scores with a short punch from the bottom. Maiden is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Menchini is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Menchini has escaped and now he's on top! Menchini is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Menchini looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Menchini tries to stand but Maiden is controlling from the bottom. Maiden is trying to control the position but Menchini postures up. Menchini postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Maiden is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Menchini, into his guard.
Menchini working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maiden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maiden manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Menchini looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Menchini is trying to improve his position. Maiden tries to advance to mount but Menchini denies him. Maiden decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Menchini throws a big counter combination but Maiden scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Menchini attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Maiden changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Maiden scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Menchini looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Maiden wants to pass to mount but Menchini is defending the position. Maiden missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Maiden is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are battling for position here. Menchini manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maiden throwing strikes but missing. Menchini looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Menchini is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Maiden has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Menchini is proving hard to escape from.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Maiden scores with a takedown into Menchini's guard. Maiden must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Menchini could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Menchini wants to stand but Maiden is controlling his arm. Maiden is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maiden is looking for a sweep. Menchini is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Menchini stalling away here and it's allowed Maiden to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Menchini wants to control from the top but Maiden keeps moving. Menchini controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Maiden tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Menchini presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Menchini has isolated one of Maiden's arms. Maiden looking to fight him off but Menchini twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
