The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLeod wants to land a leg kick but Vaaka is out of range.
McLeod dodges the punch combination from Vaaka.
McLeod takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Vaaka swats away the attempt to clinch by McLeod.
We've been hearing reports that McLeod has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
A bone on bone clash there as Vaaka blocks the leg kick.
McLeod misses with a low kick.
Vaaka looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vaaka slips a jab from McLeod.
Vaaka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McLeod circles away quickly and effectively.
McLeod lands a leg kick that knocks Vaaka off balance momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McLeod throws a looping overhand right but Vaaka ducks down to avoid it.
Vaaka cracks a nice hook into McLeod's ribs.
McLeod goes for a double leg but Vaaka avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vaaka continues to drive forward.
Vaaka is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Vaaka wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vaaka ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McLeod moves away.
Vaaka bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

McLeod connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Vaaka darts in and clinches McLeod up against the cage.
Vaaka stops a takedown attempt from McLeod.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Vaaka blocks a body shot from McLeod.

Vaaka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Niilo Vaaka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McLeod dodges the punch combination from Vaaka.
McLeod half committed to a counter leg kick.
Vaaka scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Vaaka lands a two punch combo.

McLeod changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vaaka looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McLeod is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vaaka knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Vaaka is trying to buck McLeod off.

McLeod sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Vaaka is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
McLeod lands an elbow.

Vaaka is wriggling around trying to escape but McLeod has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Vaaka taps out and McLeod picks up the big win! Great work there by McLeod!
