Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Gaarlandt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yahweh Falwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Falwell has chosen Don't Stop Believing as his entrance music. Jeff Gaarlandt has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Gaarlandt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yahweh Falwell!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Falwell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gaarlandt.
Gaarlandt connects with a good right hand that stumbles Falwell. Falwell circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A combination from Gaarlandt does no damage.
Gaarlandt tries to bum rush Falwell with a series of wild strikes but Falwell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gaarlandt lands with a nice combination. Falwell backs away looking to recover.
Sloppy strikes from Gaarlandt. Those never looked like landing.
Falwell takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Gaarlandt throws a right and a left that both miss.
A punch lands to the side of Falwell 's head but he takes it in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gaarlandt lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Falwell at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gaarlandt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And Falwell tries to counter it with a takedown but Gaarlandt pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Gaarlandt misses with a few strikes there.
Falwell feints the counter takedown.
Gaarlandt connects with a good right hand that stumbles Falwell. Falwell circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gaarlandt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Falwell drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gaarlandt defends it well.
Gaarlandt lands with a cross.
Nice jab there from Gaarlandt.
Gaarlandt misses with a jab, cross combination.
Falwell is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Gaarlandt fails to land with a series of punches.
Falwell changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Gaarlandt lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gaarlandt.
Gaarlandt is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gaarlandt throws a right and a left that Falwell avoids nicely.
And Falwell tries to counter it with a takedown but Gaarlandt pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Gaarlandt lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Falwell backs up against the cage.


Falwell is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gaarlandt connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Falwell is still on wobbly legs! Can Gaarlandt finish him?
Gaarlandt throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Falwell.
Falwell feints the counter takedown.
Gaarlandt lands a hook that stumbles Falwell back into the cage. Gaarlandt follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Falwell to the canvas! Gaarlandt pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Falwell has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jeff Gaarlandt!
Yahweh Falwell spoke after the fight, saying 'Hasa diga eebowai. I guess I didn't pray hard enough, or maybe prayed too much. I bet if I rolled more instead of praying, I might have learned to defend submissions. I guess it's God's will. But to quote George Carlin: "If it's God's will and he's going to do what he wants to anyway, why'.
