Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Dawes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dawes has chosen why can't we be friends as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bryan Dawes!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawes moves into range and connects with a jab.
Kang walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Dawes just misses with a punch to the body.
Dawes tests Kang's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Nick Kang has been cut.
Dawes with a jab.
Nice takedown defense from Dawes. No joy for Kang on that attempt.
Dawes jabs at Kang's body.

Dawes closes the distance and clinches.
Dawes has a couple of punches blocked by Kang.
Kang can't break the clinch.
Dawes lands a right hand.
Kang blocks an elbow strike.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kang wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dawes has him pressed against the cage.
Kang tries to break the clinch but Dawes is controlling the position.
Kang is trying to break free.

Kang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kang avoids the body shot from Dawes.
Kang drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dawes sprawls and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kang drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dawes wants to stand but Kang is controlling the position.
Kang preventing the sweep.
Dawes looking to control.
Kang working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dawes's head.
Kang postures up.
Kang landing some decent shots from guard.
Kang postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dawes wants to sweep but no luck.
Kang postures up.
Dawes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kang with a flurry of punches that miss.
Kang trying to control the position from guard on top but Dawes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dawes wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dawes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kang trying to control but Dawes is working from the bottom.
Dawes wants to sweep here but Kang controlling him for the moment.
Kang throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kang landing some decent shots from guard.
Kang lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kang preventing the sweep.
Kang works over Dawes with some ground and pound from guard.
Kang postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dawes working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kang.
Dawes has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kang has passed into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dawes tries to improve position but can't.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dawes can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dawes keeps trying to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kang sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dawes is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Dawes struggling a bit here.
Dawes is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kang landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Kang fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kang scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Dawes is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Kang can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Kang!
A very excited looking Nick Kang made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
