Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brett Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex The Lion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brett Simmons! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex The Lion! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simmons closes this distance looking for a takedown but The Lion circles away. Simmons with a lazy takedown attempt and The Lion counters with a straight right hand. Simmons shoots for a double leg takedown but The Lion sprawls well. He's pushed Simmons's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. The Lion is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brett Simmons. That's going to take a lot out of him. Simmons darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Simmons trying to mount his opponent but The Lion defends it. Simmons is controlling the pace.
The Lion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simmons. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simmons is pressing down on The Lion's thigh, looking to free his foot. The Lion is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simmons with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Simmons doesn't succeed with the takedown and Simmons takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Simmons darts in looking for a takedown but The Lion gets double underhooks and turns Simmons into the cage. Simmons shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. The Lion manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Simmons not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Simmons tries to free his leg and advance position but The Lion is retaining full guard. Simmons won't allow The Lion to get back to his feet. Simmons slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Lion is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Simmons with a flurry of punches that miss. The Lion has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Simmons is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. A head punch on the inside from The Lion fails to land. Simmons is trying to pull guard but The Lion has him pressed against the cage. A nice left hand lands by The Lion.
The Lion lands with a short head shot on the inside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Lion leaning against his opponent.
The Lion working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Simmons is rocked! The Lion lands with a light punch inside. Oh Simmons is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Simmons tries for a takedown but The Lion manages to get underhooks.
The Lion lands a hook to the side of the head. Simmons blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Simmons tries to pull guard but The Lion holds him up against the cage and eventually Simmons drops back down to his feet.
The Lion tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. The Lion lands a hook that snaps the head of Simmons backwards. Simmons blocking some punches.
Simmons jumps guard but The Lion stands there with Simmons around his waist. Simmons gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The Lion lands a big right hand that drops Simmons! The killer instinct kicks in and The Lion finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by The Lion!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex The Lion! A relieved looking Alex The Lion thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
