Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Munson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dom Nik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Munson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dom Nik! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nik shoots in for a double leg but Munson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Munson takes the fight into the clinch. Munson manages to break the clinch.
Munson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Munson manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Nik. No joy for Munson on that attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nik goes for a double leg but Munson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Munson continues to drive forward. Tommy Munson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Munson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Munson counters by clinching up. Tommy Munson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dom Nik.
That's one minute gone in the round. Munson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nik regains guard immediately. Munson won't allow Nik to get back to his feet. Nik keeping moving, preventing Munson from controlling successfully. Munson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Munson wants to get up but he can't break Nik's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Nik escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Munson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Munson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nik looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nik utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Munson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Munson wants to control from the top but Nik keeps moving. Nik working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Munson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Munson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nik working for a triangle but Munson defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nik working a defensive guard here.
Munson stands up over Nik, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Munson looking to pass the guard. Nik is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Munson is aware though and is defending well. Nik has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Munson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Nik being controlled here, momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nik working for a triangle but Munson defends it easily.

Munson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Munson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nik swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Munson works a leg free and moves into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Munson wants to clinch but Nik slips to the side and Nik counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Munson! Munson wants to get back to his feet but Nik is dominant here and he's now got Munson's back! Nik is hanging on to Munson's back as he tries to escape.
Munson is trying to defend against the choke here but Nik has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Nik Tightens the hold and Munson taps out furiously! Nik displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dom Nik! During a confident post fight interview, Dom Nik thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
