Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Jacobi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Turner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Jacobi!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jacobi tries to avoid it but Turner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jacobi to the ground. Jacobi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jacobi wants to control from the top but Turner keeps moving.

Turner has his foot on Jacobi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jacobi works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jacobi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jacobi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Turner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Turner is looking for a triangle here but Jacobi uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jacobi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jacobi is looking for the big counter here.

As Jacobi looks to move away, Turner throws a big counter combo bu Jacobi just gets out of the way.

Turner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jacobi is in close to Turner's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jacobi can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jacobi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Turner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jacobi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jacobi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Turner.
And Jacobi tries to counter it with a takedown but Turner pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Jacobi wants to clinch.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jacobi. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Kurt Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon Jacobi.

Turner is trying to break free.
Turner is trying to push Jacobi away but Jacobi has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Jacobi has Turner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Turner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Jacobi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Turner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Turner tries to counter with a takedown but Jacobi is quick to defend against it.

Turner drops back looking for a leg! Jacobi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jacobi manages to kick Turner off! Turner jumps back into Jacobi's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Turner goes for a double leg but Jacobi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jacobi continues to drive forward.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Turner not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Turner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jacobi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Brandon Jacobi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jacobi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
