Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pelle Paniikki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaspar Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paniikki comes to the cage accompanied by N'sync - Bye Bye Bye. Gaspar Gomez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Paniikki won't allow Gomez to pass to mount.
Gomez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Paniikki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gomez pulls his head out easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paniikki is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at CEC Underdark that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Gomez seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that Pelle Paniikki will probably get the nod.
That's time! Paniikki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Paniikki uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gomez.
Paniikki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gomez tries to avoid it but Paniikki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gomez to the ground. Gomez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Paniikki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gomez's waist but Gomez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Paniikki off to one side.

Paniikki shoots for a double leg takedown but Gomez sprawls well. He's pushed Paniikki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Paniikki tightens his grip and picks Gomez up, before dumping him to the ground. Gomez manages to land in guard.

Paniikki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gomez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

I would just about give that final round to Gaspar Gomez.
